Week 6-DSC_Digital_Citizenship_discussion


Meeting with my Instructional Technologist at DSC to discuss our collaboration on Digital Citizenship, I presented what I had from looking at social networking. We worked in the Roberts Library and talked about the growth plans there. We also agreed that our project will examine and instruct on copyright and Intellectual property laws, how much instructors can use in instruction, the rules associated with using other people's content, and how to protect that information.







We have a direction and a plan.

Week 12 looks like we are all just going to have to get used to this new reality. Working from home makes the days seem to go by even faster.... maybe that is just me. My Professional Development project presentation is this week. I have had two meetings to practice and get feedback from Miles Ford and Doug Dillard. They have been really good to work with, and very helpful. I am fortunate to work for a company that allows the education department to spend so much time on a project like mine. While the Google Sheets project is something they want to add to their LinkedIn Learning, a live presentation is not how they will do it. Week 9

COVID-19 looks like it might adversely affect the semester. My company (Shaw Industries) is asking employees not to travel between sites unless necessary to do their jobs. So far, this has not played into my staff development project, but I may be asked to present my instruction online. As things are right now, I will not be allowed to present my lesson in person at a Shaw facility that is not Tricycle. My boss (Aernout Hetem) has asked all Tricycle employees to work from home as well. I do not know how this will effect my grade, but I will have to do as the company requests. I have put a lot of work into this lesson so far - here's hoping. Similarly, my Instructional Technologist at Dalton State is spending the week making sure that all classes can be delivered online if asked to do so.
